WORKSHOP GRAPHICS LAUNCH PARTY

The team at Workshop Graphics are expanding. DRD headed out west to check out their new premises and to see what they’ve got in store.

When it comes to dirt bike graphics in NZ, there is one name that stands above the rest – Workshop Graphics. As the premier supplier of custom decals to trail and motocross riders countrywide along with the majority of NZ’s national race teams including JCR Yamaha, Honda NZ Racing, HLR Husqvarna, Kia Suzuki and the KTM & Husqvarna Off-road Racing Team, Workshop Graphics have cemented their position as number one by producing great quality products with excellent designs.

Despite being so popular, Workshop Graphics was still based at the owner, Darryl Blom’s home, something he knew needed to change if he was to grow the business and expand into different areas. And that’s where a bit of brilliance came along, with Darryl seeing the future in a unique collaboration with another leading member of the graphic and signage industry – DB Graphics and Doctor B Signage. Combining the talent and expertise of Darryl and Workshop Graphics with the DB team not only meant more staff to handle the increased workload but also gave him access to the creative brains behind DB Graphics, along with their catalogue of designs, which stretch back to the early days before ilabb was a clothing empire.

“Together we bring New Zealand’s largest selection of world- class designs and dedicated staff to ensure our customers continue to receive the best quality products and service for both action sports decals and now branding and signage,” commented marketing- lady extraordinaire Kate Lemon who has been brought into the team to push the brand to new heights. Other members in the mix are Cam Huggins, creative director and signage master; Lyndon Cleveland, sales director; graphics and signage-whiz kid Daniel De Groot, and last but certainly not least, accounts and logistics superstar, Tracy Blom.

NEW DIGS

Chatting with Darryl at their new 350sqm purpose-built facility in Westgate, you can see where the flair comes from. “I just want to do cool stuff, like wake board boats, jet skis, dirt bikes and buggies and this gives me the room to do it,” explained Darryl as we looked over the large workshop from the mezzanine floor. Workshop Graphics and DB are about dealing with cool clients, and making their ride look rad is the top priority. It’s also something they’re extremely good at.

The launch party consisted of friends and family, both in the traditional sense of the word but also Darryl’s motocross family. Mat Saunders, founder of ilabb was there, as was Brad Groombridge who’s been running Workshop Graphics decals on his NZ#1 XC Suzuki RM-Z450. But it’s not only in New Zealand where Workshop’s graphics are popular, with DHL now collecting packages from them on a daily basis to ship throughout the world, with riders in Aussie and the U.S.A. now significant clients.

Workshop Graphics is a real success story, built from the passion of one man and showing just what you can do from home. Seeing the next step, Darryl has partnered with some more industry-leading talent, has set-up a purpose-built facility that is unrivalled, and is able to offer not only exceptional action sports graphics for MX, SX, Snow, Wake, MTB and Jetski but also now include vehicle and fleet signage, building signage, wall wraps, window frosting, event signage, digital printing, light boxes, and LED signage as well as creative design, precise fabrication and installation.

If you want to check out Darryl and the team at the new premises, you can find them at 3 Northside Drive in Westgate. Or you can order direct through their excellent website (www.workshopgraphics.co.nz).
It’s super exciting times ahead for Workshop Graphics, DB Graphics and Doctor B Signage and we wish them every success as they take graphics and signage to another level.
